Our Story
Founded in 2016 as a boutique estate planning practice…
…the last eight years have seen us grow to encompass six distinct areas of practice serving the entire South Florida metropolitan area. We were quick to embrace the technological and societal changes that began during, or were accelerated by, the COVID-19 years and continue to find innovative ways to fuse new technologies and ways of thinking with the best practices of time-honored tradition so that we may best serve our clients, our community, and our profession. We pride ourselves in our ability to find novel solutions to complex problems and to find novel new approaches to age-old issues. If a tested and tried solution already exists, we set out to improve it and adapt it for our modern world. If a solution doesn’t already exist, we are all the happier, because it means we get to blaze a new trail ourselves.

Stahley, P.A. we believe one of mankind’s greatest invention, eclipsed only perhaps by the spoken word, is the law and that the law, more than any other single factor, is what separates us from the rest of the animal kingdom. The law provides order and stability, dispatches justice and levels playing fields. It provides continuity, stability, and permeance to societies, allowing individuals to specializer and focus their labors where they are most needed and can do the most good, and allowing each generation to build upon the one before it and accomplish things no individual could in a lifetime.

Hammurabi, Solomon, Moses, Confucius, Octavian, Justinian, Charlemagne, Napoleon, William Blackstone, Learned Hand and countless others have, generation after generation, refined and clarified the laws, honed our understanding of its tenants and the breadth of its applicability, and added to a legacy that measures time not in years, decades, or centuries, but in millennia. We are proud to carry on in the legacy of those great lawgivers through our representation of our clients and we are humbled not only to use our knowledge of this great tradition to help those that walk through our doors not just weather, but thrive, during some of the most important moments of their lives, but also, through that representation, to add to the tradition itself.
A Forward thinking perspective
In the years since the COVID-19 Pandemic first began, we have seen a society and a people already advancing by leaps and bounds begin to advance at a pace few thought possible. Remote work environments necessitated the rapid invention and implementation of new technologies and processes to keep pace with our new reality. In the face of that need, individuals and companies began to redefine the way we live, work, and interact with one another. While many are hesitant, or even afraid, to embrace the new reality in which we find ourselves, at The Law Offices of Joshua M. Stahley, P.A. we have embraced this brave new world with open arms and are constantly looking for ways to adapt our processes, our technology, and indeed the way we approach the practice of law to better serve our clients so that they are free to achieve their goals and live the life they dreamed of and are entitled to.

At The Law Offices of Joshua M. Stahley, P.A. we know that great relationships often begin with the sharing of a story and that each individual’s story is as unique and important as anyone else’s. A person’s story tells you where they have been, illuminates what forces have shaped them and what characteristics define them. Our clients are all great authors, each stepping through our door with an unfinished novel. We consider it our sacred charge to help clear away whatever it is that is stopping them from finishing their story, so they can write the next chapter they always wanted.

Every individual is unique and comes with a diverse set of life experiences, skills, burdens, hopes, and problems that are as unique as they are. Always cognizant of that universal truth, we custom tailor our solutions to each client so that our representation fits your unique needs like a Saville Row suite hugs your shoulders. “Good enough” is not a phrase we are familiar with, and we will endeavor to ensure that the solution we create for you is as unique as you are.
With all the technological marvels changing our lives seemingly day after day, there has been a shift towards a more impersonal experience in our interactions, whether at work, at home, or in our social lives. We take pride in knowing all our clients by name and make a point to keep in touch even when our representation comes to an end.
Whenever possible we try to do more than simply solve the immediate issue that brings a client through our doors. Using our broad base of knowledge covering myriad areas of practice we endeavor to treat the underlying issues that caused the immediate problem in the first place and to offer you solutions to better guard against similar situations in the future.

We believe in the uniqueness of the individual and the potential of each person to change the world through the use of unique perspectives, ideas, and ways of thinking.
We believe in studying and remembering our past, learning from it, but also looking towards the future always cognizant that what served us well once may not any longer.
We believe in speaking power to those who wield is falsely or unjustly on behalf of those who have never had the opportunity to wield it
We believe in second chances and while we recognize the importance of first impressions we are equally as aware that one moment doesn’t define a man.
We believe that it is the duty of all who are able to help those in need when they can; not through handouts but through an outreached arm, kind words of encouragement, a sympathetic ear, and an opportunity.
Finally, we believe that above all else, a man should live his life so that when the sun sets on his last day and his deeds become immortal in the annals of history, from the lips of all that mourn is heard the highest of praise. “And so passes a flawed man, full of imperfections, his life one of grand success punctuated by abject failure. But on the balance, I am better because I knew him, by burdens lighter because he helped shoulder them, the world brighter because he lived.” Mor than all the gold of Babylon, all the tea of China, and all the silk of the Spice Road, in that praise resides the greatest riches a man may achieve, and it is what we strive for here every day with our clients, and in our own lives.
Our Founder
Attorney Joshua Michael Stahley was born in Maryland and spent his childhood years being raised in a manner more traditional than most his age before heading south and coming of age in the modern metropolis of South Florida. From the beginning a citizen of two worlds, the traditional and the modern, instead of trying to balance those two opposite halves he has always tried to take the best of each and fuse them together into something better than they could hope to be separately. A middle school teacher first sparked a love of debate and logical deduction that he has continued to nurture ever since. A lover of puzzles and problem solving, after his undergraduate years at Florida State University he attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law where he obtained his J.D. and then New York University where he obtained his LL.M. in Taxation.
Though his primary focus was initially, and to some extent still is, private client matters such as estate planning, his real focus is on solving the problems of those that walk through the door. He thrives on complexity and loves finding novel solutions to age old problems, as well as solving problems that never existed in the past.
When not practicing law, he loves to read, dabbles in photography, and is always learning something new.
what he believes in
When he set out to found his own practice Joshua Michael Stahley had a goal or vision in mind that still guides this practice to this day. That vision is to take the resources and offerings that have traditionally been limited to the select few by virtue of physical constraint on time and resources, fuse them with modern technology, and make them available to a wider audience without sacrificing the original benefit. What once required a personal team of lawyers, financial advisors, accountants, and other professionals, each limited to a small number of clients due to physical and time constraints, he wanted to make available to the masses in the hopes that a greater number of unique individuals are given the opportunity to pursue and realize their dreams, and in doing so, change the course of history.
