Introduction
Writing to a lawyer for the first time is an awkward act. The instinct is either to explain everything at once, in a message that takes an hour to compose, or to say almost nothing for fear of committing something sensitive to an inbox. Neither is necessary.
A paragraph is enough, who you are, roughly what has happened, and how to reach you by telephone. We will run a conflicts check, and if the firm is able to act, we will call to arrange the conversation properly. Please do not send privileged or confidential material in this first message: nothing written here is protected until conflicts are cleared and an engagement letter has been signed by both of us.
If the matter is urgent, telephone the principal office instead. The number is on this page, and it is answered by someone who can reach the attorney.

Meetings by appointment
The four rooms outside Fort Lauderdale are shared space, taken by appointment rather than staffed daily. Telephone the principal office and a room will be opened for you at whichever is nearest. No files are kept there.
By secure video
A great deal of this work is done well at a distance. Signing ceremonies, however, are conducted in person unless remote online notarization is appropriate to the instrument.
